Cavia Complete is a tasty complete food for guinea pigs in extruded form. Each piece contains the same balanced mixture of ingredients, optimised for the nutritional physiology of guinea pigs. This prevents the selection of individual feed ingredients. The use of cereal grains has been avoided.

The easily digestible feed consists of 20% crude fibre. This and the added prebiotics (FOS and MOS) can support normal digestive function. The long fibres contained in the extrudates are ideal for the constantly growing teeth of guinea pigs.

• Dental care: Long, unground fibres with a high silicate content result in high chewing activity and the necessary wear and tear on the constantly growing teeth.
• Fibre length: Guinea pigs are herbivores by nature and their diet must contain sufficient fibre and little starch. Cavia Complete consists of 20 % crude fibre. The special manufacturing process makes it possible to produce extrudates with unground, long, silica-rich fibres, which also play a role in natural food intake. These long fibres support natural intestinal function and tooth abrasion.
• Low in calories: A low energy content, low starch content and high crude fibre content are the ideal basis for an easily digestible and balanced diet. This allows your guinea pig to maintain its ideal weight
• Prebiotics: The addition of prebiotics - fructo-oligo-saccharides (FOS) - supports the natural digestion of our small mammals.
• Vitamin Plus: The extrudates are supplemented with some essential vitamins:
  • Vitamin C: Guinea pigs cannot produce vitamin C in their own bodies. For these rodents, the intake of vitamin C via their food is therefore vital. Versele-Laga Cavia Complete is enriched with 1000 mg/kg stabilised vitamin C. In contrast to the crystallised form, this is less susceptible to oxidation and decomposition and therefore remains effective for longer.
  • Vitamin A : contributes to the maintenance of normal skin and vision
  • Vitamin D3: contributes to normal calcium-phosphorus absorption and to the maintenance of normal bones
  • Vitamin E: antioxidant, helps to protect cells from oxidative stress
• Odour management: The extracts of the yucca plant can contribute to less bad-smelling faeces
