Hill's Prescription Diet includes a variety of clinically tested, therapeutic foods for treating a variety of different conditions in dogs and cats. Hill's Prescription Diet Canine u/d Urinary Care Original is a dietetic dry food used to help to dissolve urate crystals and cystine uroliths and to promote the reduction of urate, oxalate and cystine urolith crystals. This food can also be used to help with chronic kidney complaints. It only contains a small amount of quality protein to help to reduce accumulation of toxic protein-breakdown products. The food also has a lower salt content to limit fluid retention associated with kidney problems, and to keep fluid levels in early cardiac disorders under control.
This tasty dry food has a reduced protein content, but it comes from a high quality source. The 26% chicken and maize gluten content provide valuable amino acids. There is a balanced mixture of nutrients, vitamins, and trace elements, while beta carotene and natural antioxidants can help support bodily functions and may help to strengthen the immune system. Dalmatian with bladder crystals
Our Dalmatian was diagnosed with bladder crystals about 2 Years ago and our vet put him on Hills UD. We watch what treats we give him but on the Hills website they give you recipes using Hills UD that you can make at home. He has been for and healthy since we changed to Hills and thete has been no sign of any crystals since.

Excellent
My dog had overweight and never used to move much because of an operation on his leg. After I started feeding him Hill's Prescription Diet Canine U/d, he recovered, fed well and started moving again. We will now continue by giving him Hill's Metabolic and Mobility
