Smilla VET Weight Control dry food provides your cat with the best possible support for weight loss and weight maintenance.
- Reduced fat and energy content: The low fat and energy in this food makes it suitable for overweight cats.
- Low mono- and disaccharides content: This food contains a low level of rapidly available mono- and disaccharides to help keep blood sugar levels as constant as possible, .
- Raised plant fibre content: A high proportion of fibre increases the food volume and can have a satiating effect even with a reduced amount of food.
This is frequently because of lack of exercise and too much food (especially in neutered indoor cats). Since obesity can impact your cat's health, it is all the more important to recognise and counteract excess weight. Smilla VET Weight Control was developed together with veterinarians for cats with a tendency to overweight. This dietetic dry food has a reduced fat and energy content, and carefully selected carbohydrate sources. A raised fibre content increases the food volume and this can lead to additional satiety. The food contains high-quality protein from beef, and digestible rice.
The recipe is also suitable for cats suffering from diabetes mellitus. The reduced content of rapidly available mono- and disaccharides and increased fibre help to delay gastric emptying, so fluctuations in blood sugar are minimised.
