Product description

A great toy from PetSafe to keep boredom at bay and as part of a slimming programme for your cat. Suitable for all types of popular dry food. Diameter approx. 7.5cm.

The PetSafe SlimCat Treat Ball is made by Multivet and is a unique movement therapy for cats. It will help to keep your cat in shape.

How does it work: Simply fill the cat treat ball with dry food or cat treats of your choice and put it on the floor. Your cat has to roll the ball around in order to get to the food so it's a great way to give your cat a workout, especially if your pet is slightly lazy or overweight. It won't even realise that it's exercising. And it's also a good way to keep active cats amused and to prevent boredom.

Particularly indoors cats need to be kept active to stop them from becoming overweight or developing behavioural issues. The SlimCat treat ball is designed to appeal to your cat's playful nature and natural hunting instinct.

The PetSafe SlimCat Treat Ball at a glance:

  • Diameter: approx. 7.5cm
  • Colour: blue
  • Allows you to portion out the food
  • Compatible with the most popular brands of dry food and treats
  • Keeps your cat amused and deflects from unwanted behaviour
  • A great combination of fun and exercise
  • Combats obesity and helps your cat to maintain its ideal weight
Note:
As with any other product, please supervise your pet with this toy. Check the product regularly for damage, and replace the toy if it is damaged or missing any pieces to avoid potential injury to your pet.

Brilliant
We've had this for a year and it's still holding up well. Great puzzle feeder. We bought it because it was cheap but it worked better for my cat than the dearer one I bought since then. My cat took a couple of days to get used to it but hasn't had any issues since. He sometimes get frustrated by not being able to get the last couple of pieces out but I don't think that's a design flaw. He's not the smartest cat on the planet.

too big
the ball is nice but it's too big for the nibbles and there is no combination for the different openings of the ball that were small enough to have some game. It's either fully closed or open so the food will be out immediately. Not working for us! It's a pity

Cat says no
My Savannah 3-year-old cat is totally not interested in it. Though the product is top class itself. My cat is just an ignorant brat. There are much more interesting things for him, than trying to be fed by a ball.

Works well
this was our second ball - both kittens love it and its slows down the greedy MC kitten eating his and then the other cats dry food!

Staple toy at my place
I have several of those balls for my two cats. It is used as one of the many round-robin feeders I have. The size of the holes can be varied but not very much. Thus, it gets easily too easy or some pieces get just stuck. On the other hand it is almost indestructible and fairly easy to clean if only used with kibbles. The good thing is that I can use it even with my no-interest-in-food cat, while having the second for my food-crazy cat which never has an ordinary bowl but loads of puzzle feeders.

Keeps my constantly hungry cat busy while we're away
I am quite pleased with this simple yet effective toy. It's perfect for a food-orientated cat who never knows when he's full. I only have to put the smallest amount of dried food in and it keeps him entertained for a while.

Cats approved of this ball.
My feline majesties highly approve of this ball. At first, they were hesitant but soon, they were battering it all around the room! It keeps them occupied and they feel as if they've achieved something. Smiles all round.

great way to entetain my indoor cat
We got one of these for feeding our indoor cat when she started to gain weight after nutering. We now have two and use them for at least one meal a day! It keeps her active and slows down eating so she will only eat when hungry, and the adjustable size in the openings allows for different sized food and adjustable difficulty!

Entertainment for both me and the cat
A few times a week I will put my cat's dry food in there (not treats). I love watching her being a little footballer, and she gets some stimulation and earns her dinner. I love the adjustable holes, the product wouldn't work without them. A good way for her to use up some energy for the days I feel a bit lazy.

Use for meals and part meals (too)
I use this for part meals of dry food rather than treats and our cat loves it! Almost an essential to our cat. He will sometimes leaves his meal (or part meal) to get the food from this ball if there is any food in it or left in it from the previous meal. This ball is great as a means of slowing down fast eaters and provides the cat with some mental and physical exercise - though with our cat that is at a slow pace and occasionally the ball needs 'rescuing' by us when it's trapped.

Entertaining
Bought this on a whim to keep our (indoor-only) cat Ollie occupied and engaged. Put it together, dropped in some Dreamies, and by the third showing Ollie had figured things out and started nosing the ball across the floor. It doesn't seem to keep him occupied for too long but he almost always gets his treats this way

It rolls everywhere!
This treat ball rolls very well and will end up in some very strange places but at least that means my Trixie is playing with it! I really like that you can change the 'difficulty' on it (larger or smaller holes) because then it suits different kibble or treats. It took Trixie just a few seconds to figure out how it works and with just one paw swipe she sends it spinning and gets several mouthfuls in one go. I often use this to keep her busy when I'm out but also to give her an evening meal of kibble when I know I will be late home as it means she can't just eat all the food at once. I agree with the other reviews that say it'd be better to take apart to wash but I think that would make it less sturdy so I'm happy to just leave it to dry on the draining board for a day or two. If your cat doesn't like this toy then you're putting the wrong treats in it!!

Survives the occasional visit to the dishwasher :-)
It's well made and the hole size selection is decent. My only suggestion would be to make it possible to fully dismantle for cleaning. Treat Balls can wind up rolling into the strangest places (usually down the side of the litter pan). It has survived a number of low temp visits to the dishwasher. As an extra bonus, it fits in the top section of the CatIt Senses Food Maze! Slows down my gobbly mog even further ;-)

Good product, but no indepth instructions.
This is a great product. Our new cat loves to bat this about with either her nose or her paws and hoover up the treats that come out. However, she very nearly didn't get to play with it as the limited instructions were not very clear in how to put this together. Either better instructions or just shipping the thing intact would be better.

Stops him scoffing the dreamies!
My cat really likes this toy. Once he figured out the treats were in it he was all over it. He's an indoor cat so it keeps him entertained and also stops him gobbling up all his treats in one go!

Loves it
Our kitty loves it. We filled it with dreamiest and straight away she was chasing it round round the from. Days later she's still not bored of it!

Great for indoor cats
My cat is an ex-stray and likes his food, but needs to keep his exercise levels up. The ball is really easy to use and although the cat often needs reminding what it's for, can entertain himself for ages with it. I feel a bit weird about having crumbs and cat saliva on the floor though!

Great to keep my cat entertained
I brought this feeder to keep my indoor cat active during the day. It took a couple of days before he would go near it, now he's got the hang of it it's brilliant! Only cons are having to sweep the crumbs left over the floor each day, and trying to find where he last had it so I can refill it!
